Dear Moon SLJ Shape Poem Task

This is one of the Summer Learning Journey Tasks.
This is my shape poem, and before I wrote it, I read some poems online and did some research on some writing principles. They were so wonderful they actually inspired me to create a poem about the moon to relate to people’s feelings and the way their lives are. Some people don’t like to interact with others, while others are terrified of what others will think if they reveal their genuine sleeves.

  1. Well done Priththika! It’s great to read that you took time to research shape poems along with some helpful principles to guide the way you wrote this shape poem. I can tell you have thought about the moon and how it can be connected to shyness, showing only at times and then not always fully! Well done you! You are doing a great job posting and with such style! Keep up the awesome blogging Priththika.

  2. Me again! Priththika I read over your description paragraph here again. You are thoughtful and relate well to the differences we find in people. You show a good understanding of how we can be similar yet different. Well done you!

  3. Kia ora Priththika. Phil here from the Poetry Slam team. I was really impressed with the thought that went into your poem. I find it comforting to know that the moon is always there, even when you can’t see it. I think that’s also a good metaphor for hope. Sometimes there is so much bad stuff happening you can forget that there’s always good out there too. Keep up the awesome mahi! Do you think you’ll have a go at recording some of your poems?
